About this Print:
I created this piece during the quarantine of 2020. It was created as an effort of self-care. During those months, I was feeling very lost and aimless. I spent a lot of time wondering what was happening in the world, and what would happen to my friends and family. I knew that my life in general as I knew it would be entirely different from then on. I grieved a lot, like for the plans I had made that year for traveling and for finally getting to see some of my favorite musicians. Day by day, I lost track of time without a routine. My mind was spinning, thinking about what I could finally do with all the free time, but the feelings I faced while making art were dismal and uninspiring. I found inspiration within a few nights in late night hours while the world was asleep, and I hoped for the best. I drew this while thinking of how lovely and fun the summer months ahead could be and how after every period of darkness, there’s a period of light.
